From: MarkECR on 24 Feb 2010 02:17 Have this error code returned for the following updates :- KB976662, KB978706, KB971468, KB979914, KB978262, KB975560, KB978251, KB977165, KB978037, KB975713, KB978207, KB972270, & KB955759. computer is Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop running XP pro with SP3 installed. Have contacted Dell who remotely controlled the computer stating all was OK & maybe a reinstall of XP was reqd. Have run chkdsk with no problems shown. Automatic updates are turned on, i get a failure no matter how i navigate to update site. Am also running McAfee as virus checker. Please someone help me find a solution this is driving me mad. The computer also seems to be very slow and has numerous hangs. I cannot find a reason for this as plenty of disc space, no need to defrag, & plenty of processing power available.
