I think I understand the symbiology. He is trying to draw a
rectangular grid where each rectangle has height i and width 1/10 (so
each row has area i). Correct?

If this is true, then I don't see where you get:

|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| = i*1 = 10i^2

without already assuming that i = 1/10 (and you cannot assume that
what you are trying to prove is true in its own proof). Otherwise,
where do you get that

|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| = 10i^2?

Each rectangle has width 1/10, not i - otherwise, you cannot say:

.._._._._._._._._._._ = 1

No, is rectangle : h=i ,base = 1 , end area =10 (i^2)
dont : 10i *10i = 100i. ;; |_| = i^2

I assume 0,1 = 1/10? I believe most people on sci.math use "."
instead of "," as the decimal separator; your use of , is confusing.

I am talking about each of the "pieces" in that rectangle.
.._._._._._._._._._._ = 1, so I assume _ (which is the base of |_|) =
1/10.

Please show us how you get that something with height i and width
(base) 1/10 has area i^2 without already assuming that i = 1/10.

If you could use the statement you were trying to prove in your proof
of that statement, you could prove that 1 = 2:

Let a = 1 and b = 2.
Since 1 = 2, we have a = b.
We know that 3 = 3;
a = b, so we can subtract b from one side and a from the other and it
is still equal; 3 - b = 3 - a
3 - 2 = 3 - 1
1 = 2

Since you cannot show that 10i = 1 without already assuming that it is
true, then your proof fails.

Doing it your way, you can just as easily prove that
(10i)^n = 10^n:
