From: Vahis on 16 Jul 2010 14:31 This is an 11.3 w KDE 4.5 rc running as a VBox guest. When I go to runlevel 5 I get in /var/log/messages: Jul 16 21:03:04 a88-112-13-238 kdm_config[8538]: Multiple occurrences of section [General] in /usr/share/kde4/config/kdm/kdmrc. Consider merging them. The same thing goes on with several sections and like: key 'UseTheme' in section [X-*-Greeter]. Also the VBox starts hogging the host's CPU. When switched to runlevel 3 the host's CPU calms down to normal. But I can't find those sections, just one of each (I think). And if I did, how should they be merged? This may well be one of those times when one should try in real hardware. It would just be so cool to be able to test on virtual machines... I found an explanation for the above (not that I like it) .. An NFS directory was mounted to my user /home/stuff. When KDE is started the akonadi thingy starts indexing like crazy. When I removed the NFS mount from my /home all is well. IMHO Beagle was not any worse than this new thingy. On the contrary I lived with it quite nicely already for some time. This I can't live with, not yet at least. > > But I can't find those sections, just one of each (I think). > And if I did, how should they be merged? The above is still true. It install fine but will not bootup all the way. Tried twice. It runs excellent in Vmware Player (64bit) 11.3 KDE4. -- LSMFT I haven't spoken to my wife in 18 months. I don't like to interrupt her.
