From: SimonBbk on 7 Apr 2008 12:19 Hi, When I create a new RDP Terminal Server connection using the Terminal Service Connection Wizard, the drop down box for Connection Type is greyed out, and only Microsoft RDP 6.1 is available. I have some Linux thin-clients that support RDP 5 - how can I configure TS2008 to work with these??
From: Vera Noest [MVP] on 7 Apr 2008 14:49 Have you tried the connection? I think they should be able to connect, but without a lot of the new features. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ =?Utf-8?B?U2ltb25CYms=?= <SimonBbk(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 07 apr 2008 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Hi, > When I create a new RDP Terminal Server connection using the > Terminal Service Connection Wizard, the drop down box for > Connection Type is greyed out, and only Microsoft RDP 6.1 is > available. From: SimonBbk on 9 Apr 2008 09:25 Hi, yes have already tried. The thin-client Status changes briefly to Connected, but then drops back to Not Connected. Have tried : Set "Computer Configuration->Administrative templates->Windows Components->Terminal Services->Security->Require use of specific security layer for remote (RDP) connection" to "RDP". & on Computer Properties Remote tab have selected "allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop", but creating a new session is still forced to RDP 6.1 !
From: SimonBbk on 10 Apr 2008 07:15 Any ideas anyone? I could do with being able to use these Linux thin-clients, otherwise I'll need to stick with W2k3 or replace them with RDP6.1 compatible devices :( "SimonBbk" wrote: > Hi, yes have already tried. > The thin-client Status changes briefly to Connected, but then drops back to > Not Connected. > Have tried : > Set "Computer Configuration->Administrative templates->Windows > Components->Terminal Services->Security->Require use of specific security > layer for remote (RDP) connection" to "RDP". > & > on Computer Properties Remote tab have selected "allow connections from > computers running any version of Remote Desktop", > but creating a new session is still forced to RDP 6.1 ! >

Maybe it was "rdesktop", I can't remember. Anyway, you should upgrade your Linux client. Cheers Tommi |
