Sometimes you have to look over those manuals real good. My ASUS M2N-SLI
had a problem at first with 6 gigs and it didn't boot. The solution was
to install each one seperately and then boot each time. I don't know why
it wouldn't boot at first with all of the slots populated but I got that
solution from the ASUS forums.

My Intel system is the only one I removed XP. After changing to AHCI W7
would reboot over and over. There's a registry fix at MS that gets it
working.

Take my violin please. :P

That is bizarre! I found the Asus forums to be helpful. When I went with the 4 x 1GB sticks, it
wasn't straightforward either. I had to play with voltages and stuff in the BIOS - to get it to work
properly. I think the Asus boards (or maybe all of them) struggle a little when all 4 memory slots
are populated. When you think about it - this much memory probably requires a lot of power to "refresh".

I think I'll stay where I am ;-)

I've got to migrate my "general" partition first. That will be easier than the music one - it's only
got browsers, office, enail client etc. I have to get a new scanner first - as my Canon one only has
XP drivers and I can't get them to work (32 bit Win 7 is supposed to be OK - but 64 bit doesn't want
to hear about it)
