I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to install messenger 7.5 and I get a
windows installer script error, followed by a 1603 error. No anti-spyware of
any kind is running. Have installed latest copy of Windows Installer 3.1 and
run Windows Instller clean up tool. All done.

The text from the event log is as follows
"Product: MSN Messenger 7.5 -- Error 1720. There is a problem with this
Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete
could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Custom
action CheckReinstallSamePackage script error -2147467259, Msi API Error:
ProductInfo,Product,Attribute Line 9, Column 1"

Can anyone shed any light on this, it is very perplexing and annoying.
