From: mandysharie on 6 Feb 2010 21:15 I had to buy a new ac adapter cord for my laptop not too long ago because the dog got ahold of mine and chewed it to the point of it not working anymore. The adapter cords are pretty expensive, I know the one for my HP Pavillion DV6700 was anyways. I purchased the cheapest one that I could find at one of my local retail stores (walmart) it was just a basic universal laptop cord. It was around $100. I checked at other places such as radioshack and places like that and there cost was just the same. After I bought the cord I came home and looked for one online. To my suprise there were some that were alot cheaper when ordered from some different sites online. If you have to but a new one I suggest trying to find one and buy it from a website because the cost seems to be much cheaper. If I would have ordered mine online instead of from walmart I would have saved quite a bit. The cord online was somewhere around $30 or so. Also you can use a universal one. You dont have to buy the same one that came with your computer or the one from the manufacter. The original ones are definately very costly.
From: tc on 7 Feb 2010 14:59 Take it back to Wal-Mart and get a refund. Then order the one you want. From: Barry Watzman on 7 Feb 2010 15:01 You can buy an AC adapter for almost any common laptop from a major mfgr. on E-Bay for $20 or less (sometimes for $10). They are made in China knock-offs, but they generally work ok. mandysharie wrote: > I had to buy a new ac adapter cord for my laptop not too long ago > because the dog got ahold of mine and chewed it to the point of it not > working anymore.
