Synaptics touchpads, OTOH, are very well supported... However the Synaptics touchpad on a Toshiba Satellite laptop needs the ALPS driver to "tune" it properly. I had to do this with 32-bit Vista to make it less sensitive. The Synaptics driver supplied by Toshiba didn't give all the conficguration options but the ALPs driver did. Various technical forums (fora?) tell you to it for Win7 64 bit as well. But I can't find one anywhere.
