Cambridge Computer has announced a FREE Hardware Button Utility for Windows
Mobile devices

PROBLEM:
Windows Mobile allows you to assign hardware buttons to a program, but it
will not pass the command line via a shortcut to that program.

SOLUTION:
vxButton allows you to launch vxHpc, vxHpcPlus, vxFtp or vxUtil (or any
other application) with a command line value via a hardware button.
