AV-Comparatives has been rating Microsoft Security Essentials very
highly the last few times they have tested it. I hope that makes an
impression on all the Microsoft bashers eventually.

Guess that made quite an impression, eh Harry? <grin> BG,

It's been about 6 months that I've been turning to MSE & their firewall
when working on others' older computers. I'm not talking a lot of
systems btw, just 5 or so but, the results are pretty impressive.

Snappier (XP or Vista) systems and current definitions. I know this
combo doesn't work for all boxen but, so far, it's worked for the
systems I've had to clean up.

data-pointedly yours,

MSE has found everything I've thrown at it. It uses the same definition
files as their corporate Forefront product. I was paying for a
subscription for ESET, but dropped it when MSE came out.
