From: Allen Browne on 16 Jul 2008 04:12 David's right: this has to do with the updates such as security patches. Under Help | About, my copy of A2000 on WinXP SP3 reports itself as: Microsoft (r) Access 2000 (9.0.8968 SP-3) But if you look at msaccess.exe in My Computer, its version is 9.0.0.6620. I find this more informative, since it is specific to Access. So that's what I show on my software's Help | About and splash screens: http://allenbrowne.com/ser-53.html#MSAccess (Mind you, hotfixes still do affect this version number.) -- Allen Browne - Microsoft MVP. Help >> About shows 6926 SP3 but the msaccess.exe shows 6620. Interesting. I've never noticed that this could be different.
