It lets me use the account to log in and pull up the list of groups while in the NAS admin screen, but when I try to complete the connection it gives me the error about insifficient privileges. I also tried creating a new user with full administrative access and it won't work either. As I mentioned, it worked fine with SBS 2003, but doesn't work with SBS 2008. Is there a log I can check on SBS 2008 to see if there is more detail? Can I manually join it to the domain?
From: Chad A Gross on 22 Dec 2008 10:56 Just out of curiosity, what name did you give the NAS? I've seen instances where the NAS name matched the netbios domain name, and that caused all sorts of issues including preventing the NAS from joining the domain. Are you getting any errors in the event logs on the server when you attempt to join the NAS to the domain? -- Chad A Gross http://www.msmvps.com/blogs/cgross "Nick" <junk(a)giovas.net> wrote in message news:40e07673-644a-4211-b723-c46fbc94b5ff(a)s9g2000prg.googlegroups.com... From: Nick on 22 Dec 2008 17:54 I tried several names including Intel4000e, StorageServer and others. It still didn't work. I will check the logs to see if anything is listed. I also opened a ticket with Intel, but their first indication was that it is a Windows issue. I will see if they provide any additional info. From: Nick on 22 Dec 2008 18:20 I just checked the logs folder and didn't find anything listed for a domain join. I also checked the netsetup debug log and nothing was listed at all for a domain join. Is there a different log I should be checking? Even the successful joins were not listed. Ok Nick - Just out of curiosity, how are you listing your domain in the NAS authentication page? Are you using the netbios name (DOMAIN) or the fully-qualified domain name (domain.local)? If you're using the netbios name, have you tried using the FQDN (or vice versa)? -- Chad A Gross http://www.msmvps.com/blogs/cgross "Nick" <junk(a)giovas.net> wrote in message news:079c8a82-fa5f-4c2d-9a7f-8aef9c86245f(a)a26g2000prf.googlegroups.com...
