From: SStraveler on 28 Dec 2009 19:42 I use Word 2000 and it is fine for my needs. I am doing something right now in Italian and it would be helpful to have Italian spell check or an Italian dictionary. I looked on the Microsoft page and could not find Italian for Word 2000. I saw something that can be downloaded to fix Italian in the proof feature but I am not sure if I can add that to my Word and if I can how I go about doing that. Any ideas on how to add Italian to Word 2000 either via Microsoft or a third-party add on program? Thanks
From: Jay Freedman on 28 Dec 2009 22:03 There was a Microsoft product, Microsoft Office 2000 Italian Proofing Tools, that was sold separately. Like Office 2000 itself, this has been discontinued for a number of years; Google couldn't find anywhere online that still sells it. If you do find a copy for sale somewhere, there's a update for it at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813715. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. From: SStraveler on 29 Dec 2009 15:16 If I can not find the proofing tool the only option is to upgrade? Does the Home and Office Version of Word 2007 include the Italian dictionary/spell-check or is that another item that I have to purchase?
