Why when I add a border to a word document does the bottom sections get cut
off?

They may be ending up in the nonprintable area of the page (for the printer
driver you are using). In the Borders and Shading dialog box, click the Page
Border tab. Click the Options button to change the placement of lines.
Change the measurements as required.
