Drag whatever groups you want in there from the full group list. Then when you close the window, you'll be prompted to name and save it. You can create any number of these, so that you might, for instance, keep them organized to suit your preferences. I have one I call "Main" and another called "Genealogy" and still another called "Programming", plus others. -- Steve W. Jackson Montgomery, Alabama

He asked for a way that doesn't involve dragging the newsgroup from the full group list, but that's exactly what you recommended. -- Barry Margolin, barmar(a)alum.mit.edu Arlington, MA *** PLEASE don't copy me on replies, I'll read them in the group ***

Actually, he mentioned dragging it to the "newsrc window". Is a MT-NW group file considered a newsrc file? -- Steve W. Jackson Montgomery, Alabama

Open your group file in a text editor, and you'll see that it looks exactly like the newsrc file used by traditional Unix newsreaders. MT-NW also has an option to access remote newsrc files instead of using its own group files. -- Barry Margolin, barmar(a)alum.mit.edu Arlington, MA *** PLEASE don't copy me on replies, I'll read them in the group ***

I use the remote newsrc feature of MT-NewsWatcher, and it is a dream! With a centralized, networked newsrc file, you can open MT-NewsWatcher on any computer and always see your current subscriptions and read/unread counts. It's extremely handy! -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts. JR
