Windows XP I presume

http://www.customaddressbook.com/download/#cablite
is tiny, very easy to add/delete fields. Portable

Essential Pim Portable Free

Has a good address book, but is part of a larger program, with
reminders , etc. Portable. You can select only the address book
module.

Avoid anything that autodials or accesses the internet in any
way. Anyone can intercept your private data that way. Both of the
above programs are safe. Just set essential pim to NOT check for
updates and you are done.

Presuming you are using Windows, its very own Address book is the
simplest, that also integrates with Outlook or Outlook Express etc., and
is supposed to hold 999 entries.
Start/ Run/ wab

:) I honestly didn't know it was there .....really.
The other day I discovered I could select icons in WinXP (and
gnome) by clicking on a blank place on the desktop, then dragging the
mouse over the wanted icons, always with left mouse button pressed. I
have always pressed ctrl and manually clicked the icons, one by one.
So many hours wasted these last 10 years ......

OK, what you mean is "Select all" that comes within the dotted rectangle
when you drag the mouse. That can be done even in Windows Explorer when
you need to select a series of files in a row, rather than through
Shift-click.

The address book by the way is normally found/created under
"C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Address
Book" as UserName.wab
