From: Mirsky on 13 May 2010 14:44 Hi. Today Amazon is selling Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac for $54.99 with free shipping plus another $20 rebate for a total (after sending in the rebate form) of $34.99. I own Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. I don't use it a lot but I'm tempted to get the Amazon deal because of its low price. So, I'm wondering if version 8 worth the upgrade? Thanks

The only shortfall, in my experience, is that PSE 8 doesn't handle every function with 16-bit tiff files that PS does. (But it does more than PSE 6 in any case.)

[I realize this is a personal foible, but the settings for this are apparently unchangeble.] Has version 8 made any change in that regard?

There's a pref setting for either dark (default) or light backgroundstill white on gray, though. -- Spenser

NO! And it's making my husband nuts. Change to a light background (as was his preference) and it was worse. -- Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://web.me.com/barbschaller Updated 4-24-2010 with food story and pictures
