From: andyk79 on 5 Jan 2010 19:27 Can anyone help. I have a personal computer, windows XP. having difficulty in downloading the latest version of Adobe Reader 9. I had similar issues trying to download the flashplayer but used the 'trouble shooting' link on the Adobe website to download it. I have searched for the same kind of problem link for the Reader but the relevant page says error. The error with downloading is: When trying to install, the screen freezes for 30 or so seconds and then closes down either giving an error box from Dr Watson Postmortum Debugger or Internet Explorer error. I have tried many things that peole have said, i'e disable Dr Watson, turn off security devices etc but it still has the same error message. -- andyk79 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ andyk79's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/171099.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/1290008.htm http://forums.techarena.in

TechArena.in is a leech of Usenet and fakes that it provides forums when they are actually Usenet news groups and uses the vBulletin USENET gateway. In this case it is a news group within the Microsoft.* hierarchy and can be directly accessed via the Microsoft news server; MSNews.Microsoft.Com using a news client via TCP port 119. Users of TechArena.in are strongly ENCOURAGED to drop the TechArena.in leech of Usenet and access "this" News Group directly with the following News URL... news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support Second... ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.2/ Find your coontry relevant folder and download. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html Multi-AV - http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/35905.asp

Even better, try the FoxIt PDF Reader. Free, smaller, faster, better. http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ As some say... "To put it gently, Adobe Reader is a real pain in the hindquarters." {CNET Download}
