I've been using it permanently for several months; much more responsive
than my ISP.

OK, I'll try it for the time being and see how it goes. Thanks.

Hi Mike,

I work with Agile Web Solutions and I can reassure you that we are very
much around and active.

Indeed, there is a new beta of 1Password for Mac that was just released
for those tracking the Beta versions in the past hour. (It fixes some
common annoyance, so if all goes well with the beta, version 3.2.3
should be released soon.)

But over the past few days a still undiagnosed DNS problem has had us
unreachable for many users (we really don't know how many since we only
hear from the small handful who have managed to let us know that they
can't reach us.)

From what we can tell, customers of sky.com in the UK and of tiscali.com
can't resolve our domains. Somehow a failure to find anything for
agile.ws and agilewebsolutions.com got cached to many systems. We have
had no changes or down time at our end.

We are now in the process of adding new name servers.

Would you mind telling me about your ISP and local network setup? Also
what version of OS X you are using.

Could you run the following commands in Terminal.app and post the
response (or send them to support(a)agile.ws)?

dig -t ptr 44.8.208.74.in-addr.arpa

dig -t soa agilewebsolutions.com

dig -t soa 1passwd.net

dscacheutil -q host -a name agilewebsolutions.com

It is not just you.

Don't worry. We all rely on 1Password and will continue to support and
develop it. Indeed, we have some really great things in the pipeline.

At the moment we are worried that to so many people it appears that
we've "dropped off the net". We haven't, but we seem to be invisible to
certain portions of it.

Cheers,

Only that you're sending yet more data about browsing habits to Herr Google.

I'm glad that that works. Now that you've switched, there's no reason
to run the tests that I suggested in my previous post.

I've been using Google DNS for my home network since it was first
announced. It's been fine.

If you want to make the change permanent, you should probably make the
change in your local router. That will be the thing that is either
using your ISP's name servers or telling machines on your network to use
those name servers.

(And to help me track down the DNS problems, I would love to know what
the current settings on your router are.)

Cheers,
