From: Jaimie Vandenbergh on 16 Jun 2010 07:27 A colleague's Air mini-HD has died with surface errors, and although I did salvage the content okay the OS sensibly refuses to install on it. It's an original 2007 Air with ye olde-fashioned ATA hard drive interface. It's out of Applecare. Anyone know what the Apple price is for replacing the 80gig, or (out of interest) a 64gig SSD? Colleague is based in France, unfortunately - but I'll keep that in mind if he comes back frothing about Apple's rates! .... refurbished HDs? Does that mean rebuilt, or just salvaged from other kit? I don't really fancy the idea of rebuilt 1.8" drives. Cheers - Jaimie -- None of this will matter in 20 billion years.
