I am interested in a new phone at some near future but I do need to sync with Outlook for calendar, tasks and contacts. Is this usually provided with Android? Thanks -- AnthonyL

Android 2.2 can now directly sync calendar to exchange server (not sure about contacts/tasks) ... depends of the O/P means Outlook Express, Outlook in MAPI mode or Outlook in SMTP/IMAP/POP mode

I am not interested in syncing email, just calendar, tasks and contacts, and I am not connected to exchange server, just using a stand-alone laptop. The suggestion of trying to sync via gmail sounds cumbersome and I don't feel comfortable with google knowing a lot more about me than they already seem to. :( -- AnthonyL

I have had HTC Tytn II (Win Mobile 6.1) and HTC Touch Diamond 2 (Win Mobile 6.5) and now a HTC Hero (Android 1.5 soon to be updated to 2.1) and I feel Android is slightly better, there is not much in it IMO.
