From: Grant Griffin on 17 Feb 2010 08:09 Hi All, This is to announce the release of ScopeFIR 5.0, which is a comprehensive Windows tool for designing, analyzing and modifying complex Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters. See http://www.iowegian.com/scopefir for more information. In addition to its prior features, which include the FIR filter design methods of Parks-McClellan, Windowed Sinc, Raised Cosine, Lth Band, and CIC, ScopeFIR 5 provides the following new features: - Minimum Phase Design. (This is the most-requested new feature!) - New quantization methods for designing filters with fixed-point coefficients to create quantized FIRs whose response more closely match the original filter - User-specified constraints on the number of taps, such as even/odd or a multiple of some value. This is particularly useful in multirate applications - Export design data to HTML, which allows you to easily and fully document your FIR filter design by importing the HTML into your document. - Coefficient histogram - Additional plot styles: stem, bar, and stair For more about what's new in ScopeFIR 5, see http://www.iowegian.com/fir/help/intro_whatsnew5. The ScopeFIR distribution file also includes the following free goodies: - A comprehensive set of example FIR filter design projects - fir_algs.c: a free and open FIR filter algorithm library in C - multirate_algs.c: a free and open collection of C algorithms for FIR decimation, interpolation, and resampling You can download and try ScopeFIR free for 30 days from http://www.iowegian.com/download. New registrations for ScopeFIR Professional cost just US $299. Registered users of previous versions can upgrade to 5.0 for just $149. Please see http://www.iowegian.com/purchase for details. thanks, Grant -- _____________________________________________________________________ Grant R. From: SYL on 18 Feb 2010 17:05 Interesting. I wonder how much revenue it can generate. I wrote a Python and QT based tool for my own use and basically does the same thing. I should probably make an exe and sell it for $29.99.

It all seemed so easy when I started writing ScopeFIR in 1997... ;-) Grant -- _____________________________________________________________________ Grant R. I should probably make an exe and sell it for $29.99. There's more work than that in the help system.
