What I can't get is why they moved the 'auto' buttons onto the relevant tabs, but then moved all the presets from the tabs into the drop-down menu at the top. That's just weird. > Mebbe I should read the manual? Only in emergency :-) -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>

Well, I couldn't resist any longer. After trying out for a couple more days, and learning about the issues, and how to work around them, I succumbed to the gleam of the shiny new version. All too easy really, Trial installed, go to store, buy serial number, now it's converting the Library. After comparing images edited in both V2 and V3, there's no doubt that V3 is better. The new brushes are very good, and I was particularly impressed with the sharpen brush. Startup and quit are much faster, although that was with a very small Library. Adjusters work well enough to be quite usable. There are some glitches, but so far nothing that can't be worked around for now. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>

The only serious issue I've had so far is that some JPEGs that worked perfectly in Aperture 2 don't in Aperture 3 (they were taken about ten years ago, using a Digital Dream L'Espion camera. Probably Aperture thinks they're beneath it). Daniele

I think the one that did work in that selection was a low-resolution (hah) image from the same camera.) Daniele
