From: Paul Sture on 30 Mar 2010 04:28 At the same time as the release of 10.6.3, Apple release Security Update 2010-002 for 10.5.8 (Leopard). The release notes for both updates are contained in the same document: "Security Update 2010-002 / Mac OS X v10.6.3" <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4077> (this was not yet available on the Apple site when I downloaded Security Update 2010-002) -- Paul Sture

If you subscribe to Apple's security-announce e-mail list, you get them as soon as the software update is published, which also doubles as notice of a new minor Mac OS X update being released. The complete set of Apple-hosted public mailing lists is here: http://lists.apple.com/ and here is the page to subscribe to the security-announce list: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/security-announce -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz

To underline that, I was prompted to run Software Update by reading the posts here about the 10.6.3 release. > The complete set of Apple-hosted public mailing lists is here: > > http://lists.apple.com/ > > and here is the page to subscribe to the security-announce list: > > http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/security-announce Done. Thanks for the pointer. OK I did that and today found Security Update 2010-003 (according to <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222> this has a date of 14 Apr 2010. No mail appeared. I've just tried the RSS feed at <http://images.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/security_updates/recent.r ss> but that hasn't been updated since November. -- Paul Sture

I did receive an e-mail about this security update (and every other one since I subscribed in January). The message for 2010-003 was dated Wed, 14 Apr 2010 13:20:59 -0700 It left the last mail server at Apple about four minutes later. No idea - never paid attention to that one. -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz |
