Don't forget you can pick up a 2-year AppleCare off eBay for �65/�70 for a
MacBook - might make the refurb store more enticing!

I hadn't thought of that, thanks. Just had a look and there are some
strange ones for a MacBook/iBook, could they be genuine? It just seems
strange that they are for both when iBooks have been long gone. Maybe
the starting price of 99p is a clue :-)

That article says the new models are going into production now, and
points out that the developer conference is in June. Apple isn't going
to sit on new stock for two months.

An April or early May release seems much more likely if they are in
production now, possibly with constrained supply for a couple of months.

Interesting timing, probably not a coincidence: 10.6.3 was released,
then rumours start for new Mac models going into production a week
later.

One of my clients is getting rid of a bunch of 13in MBPs that he got in for
a training course. They'll only have been used for a few weeks, so almost
new. See uk.adverts.computer.mac for deatils.
