It could be a D40, D40X, D50, D60, D70, D80 or D90. The broken lens could have been supplied with any of these camera bodies. The possible replacement lens will work perfectly with any of those Nikon bodies. It is optically much improved over the earlier version of the 18-55mm (the broken one). It also has the benefit of optical Vibration Reduction (VR) which helps reduce the effect of camera shake. So it is likely to give significantly better results than the broken lens. Good luck.
