From: AG on 16 Jul 2006 16:29 Hi All. Can anyone give me details about the 26-pin connector of the Asus A636 pda. It seems to be the same typem as my Acer N35 has. I have the pinout for this one, but is it the same? AG.

Thanks, I'll Google around for that. AG.

From: Beverly Howard [Ms-MVP/MobileDev] on 18 Jul 2006 15:38 The following caution does not _appear_ to relate to this device, but; I will insert into the discussion that one should be extremely careful using cables made for different oem devices. As an example, some IMates use the same physical connector which has been used by Ipaq since the introduction of the 3800 series, but, while the physical connection is the same, the pin assignments are very different and if an Ipaq power connector cable is use, it _will_ physically damage IMate devices when the power supply is connected. Ya'll be careful now... hear? http://BevHoward.com/serial.htm#PDA2K Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices]

I don't want my new Asus to be blown up already. Thanks for the warning, though. AG.
