From: JF Mezei on 17 Jan 2010 08:50 Is there a way to automatically convert a bunch of .doc documents to .pdf ? I have an old copy of Word, so I can manually open them and manually print them to PDF. But this is tedious and time consuming. Was wondering if there was some command line way to do this "in batch" ?

I haven't tried it myself, but I just found a $39.95 shareware program: http://www.zevrix.com/batchoutputoffice.php -- My latest dance performance <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_9pudbFisE> Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi>

I don't know if your copy of Word is Applescript-able but that's the first thing I'd check. If it's not, or not easily scriptable, try looking at TextEdit, which is. If your Word documents aren't too complex it'll probably do just fine with them. -- Tom "Tom" Harrington Independent Mac OS X developer since 2002 http://www.atomicbird.com/

The telco who produces those .docs use a type of paragraph numbering that is not supported by textedit (or at least under tiger, I guess I should check again). Having paragraph numbers in important when quoting their stuff. |
