From: Lou on 31 Aug 2006 10:07 My Avira AntiVir? PersonalEdition Classic is suddenly constantly complaining about "HEUR/malware" in pexshell.dll for phrase express. I think the complaint is BS so I tell it to ignore but it does not remember and is a royal PIA. Anyone have any ideas other than killing phrase express - which I like. TIA Lou Education is about knowing where to look for answers.

Certainly. Replace your installation of the program being complained about. See if this stops the reports. If removing and replacing the program doesn't stop the error messages, the problem is with the antivirus software. If it does stop the messages, the problem was with the target program. -- Paul Lutus http://www.arachnoid.com
From: George on 31 Aug 2006 13:13 You have probably encountered a false positive. I use Command Antivirus and it identified a false positive once. I reported it to the owner of the software and they issued a virus defintion update. I recommend that you do the same.
