From: Lasse on 7 Nov 2007 08:36 Hi I am trying out BDD 2007 and WDS for the first time. I am using it on a Server 2003 R2 SP2. Currently I am able to boot up with PXE and start an unattended installation of Windows XP SP2. When the core XP installation is done it starts a script that tries to connect to the BDD/WDS server but it fails due to missing network drivers. I have configured BDD 2007 with Out-Of-box drivers including drivers for the network adapter but how do I get it to use the drivers when installing? I hope this make sense!
From: Chufty on 13 Nov 2007 16:46 Hi Sounds to me like the Windows PE image you're using doesn't have drivers for your network card. BDD will install any relevent Out-Of-Box drivers automatically for the target operating system but you may need to inject your NIC drivers into the Windows image itself in order for Windows PE to connect to the distribution share in the first place. Disable your image in WDS and use the windows pe command prompt that comes with the Windows AIK to mount your .wim image to a directory. Then use drvload.exe to install your network driver to that image. Remember to use the /commit switch when unmounting your image to save the changes. Also if you've only just got BDD 2007, the updated version (now called Microsoft Deployment) has just been released. Give that a try. Hope this helps Aaron "Lasse" wrote: > Hi > > I am trying out BDD 2007 and WDS for the first time.
