From: Brian K on 23 Jul 2006 01:00 Motherboard: Mach Speed K8M8MSR2 Operating: Windows XP Home Edition SP2 BIOS Award I am trying to flash my Bios with an update. I keep getting this message: Flash ROM is Write Protected. Make sure lockout jumpers are set correctly or not. In my motherboard manual there is only one set of jumpers JBAT that is CMOS Clear jumper. I find no reference to a set of lockout jumpers. If you have the same or another Mach Speed board could you tell me what they are talking about? -- ________ To email me, Edit "blog" from my email address. Brian M. I think my FIC AN19c mainboard has an option when booting to press a key to enable BIOS writing instead of entering the BIOS setup itself, or setting a jumper. Enter the BIOS setup, and look for such a setting, or watch the bootup screen for the option.

Sometimes it can be listed as a Virus Guard type option. -- Conor "I have as much authority as the pope, I just don't have as many people who believe it" - George Carlin
