Didn't poor Rick also claim to have "students"?

Yes.

LittleJohn Nessuno uses university computers (128.32.124.193 /
wigner.Berkeley.EDU) to spam this group with his lies and off-topic rants.
I wouldn't want to have a liar "teaching" in a lecture-room, if I was Robert
J. Birgeneau, Chancellor of Berkeley.

According to the HeliOS Twitter stream, 'Karen' is now getting a free
installation of Linux. Which is rather nice.

"45 minute conversation with Karen. Educated her on FOSS/Linux.
Apologies flowed, she is in awe of the Lin ux/FOSS Community."
<http://twitter.com/helios17/statuses/1051173010>

"colleagues talked her into civil litigation for privacy violation, now
on hold. Am installing Linux on her comp uter this Saturday."

Do I believe that a teacher could be this stupid? Unfortunately, yes I
can. I've got too many memories of complete incompetents put in charge
of the teaching of ICT. Since most of the ICT qualifications in this
country require little more than a pulse and the ability to take a
screen-shot of the 'Document Statistics' in Microsoft Word, it's not
exactly surprising that failure is fairly widespread.

I remember trying to explain to my ICT teacher that it would not be
possible to put a three megabyte file on to a 1.44 megabyte floppy disk,
and that Acrobat Reader (as it then was) would perhaps be a more
appropriate application for opening PDF files than Word. I think they
passed her around like a bad cough from school to school every year.
