From: Mike on 8 Jun 2010 09:56 Hi folks, Plan to finish my migration from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 as a Hyper V VM this weekend. One of my next steps I am planning is my backup procedure for SBS 2008. My current SBS 2003 has a tape robot running Backup Exec. My robot is out of warranty now, and I had figured to switch to USB external hard drives for backups - swapping out each night. However, it appears that Hyper V and USB don't co-habitate well. It appears you have add the USB hard drive to the Host OS (Server 2008), mark it as offline, and add it to the virutal machine as a physical disk. Once you have this set up, do you have to re-run it each day when you unplug/plug in the next drive in the rotation? Anyway, how are you backing up your SBS and Servers in a virtual environment? I'm looking for advice. Mike
