Next: how do virus spread via network shares?
From: dwn on 19 May 2010 13:20 I post this in Newsgroups: comp.virus and did not get any respond. Hi, this may not be the usergroup to post my problems. However, it involve Trojans and worms which infected my computer and may have contributed to my problems. Two months ago, I encounter difficulties setting Eudora mail client. Finally I had it up and running smoothly. All of a sudden, AOL and Comcast "Block" my email. A week or so AOL, lifted the blocking. I disregard it, but took precaution and "CC" email to my other Email. Two days ago I found all my email "Banned". I cannot login my paid Web mail. I can only receive email from my present ISP using "Personalities" to my other email. I run the latest Avest and found Trojans and Worms saved in Agents' newsreader in zip archived files long ago. Avest removed it. But, the damaged were done I am banned by everyone (I am not sure whether it is cause by the archived virus). I learned about the banned when I went to wildblueworld.com/forum. "Sorry. The administrator has banned your IP address. To contact the administrator click here" I called my ISP and they help me, changing Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), including flushing my IP address. Still no good. Spamhaus, AOL, Comcast and Yahoo banned my email. I never span, nor do I sell or solicits anytime. I guarded my email never, accept anything free and etc. I email to only a handful of people. While I download from comp.virus Newsgroup, Avest found a Trojans in Posting "Subject: wierd html" dated 11/16/2009. I need advice to lift the banned and protect myself from further infected. Thanks a million. I really need help and advices ASAP.

It was canceled. ------------------------ "comp.virus will be removed The Last Call for Comments (LCC) on 20 Jun 2007 initiated a five-day period for final comments. Following the comment period, the Big-8 Management board has decided by consensus to remove the newsgroup comp.virus." This group will be removed on 25 Jun 2007. ----------------------- You want alt. comp.virus and/or alt. comp.anti-virus This news group, served through Microsoft, will be going away soon. :-( First thing to do is scan you PC will a few different anti malware scanners such as; MBAM, Sophos, and Trend Micro. This will make sure the PC is really clean of malware. Then change ISPs. This way you will get a new IP address. Otherwise you will have to change the MAC address of your ISP connection such that you will be provided a new IP address. For example putting a NAT Router or a FireWall Appliance bween your PC and your ISP can do this and improve your security. Next, cancel the email accounts you have used. Sorry but that is the best way to go. They may have been compramised. Then create news accounts. Make sure all accounts have strong passwords. That is at least 8~10 characters and use a mix of uppercase, lowercase numbers and speacial characters. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html Multi-AV - http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/35905.asp |
