cascading two dc/dc regulator I use two dc/dc regulator to generate 12V and 5V output from 40V input. 40V --- LM5576 --- 12V 40V --- LM5576 --- 5V Since LM5576 is too expensive, I wonder if I can use a cheaper dc/dc converter in cascade with LM5576 to generate 5V from 12V as the following? I can not use a LDO for 12V to 5V because the ... 3 Oct 2008 03:06
LEI-4 transformer Hi - I yanked some parts from an old APC unit - a 350 (I think). A chunky transformer has markings of LEI-4, 430-2020 and also 155D. Think this think is worth keeping? Thing weighs about 3 lbs. I did find posts on measuring various aspects of unknown transformers but I think I'll leave that till I have some more... 30 Jul 2008 18:56

How to interface Arduino to a 12-bit serial DAC Can anyone give me some pointers on what I would need to do to get a TLV5618 12bit serial DAC running with an Arduino? I want to be able to output 0-5v under program control. http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tlv5618a.pdf Particularly how I connect CS, SCLK, and REF to get the chip working. Thanks, ... 28 Oct 2007 11:01
OVP With the MC3423 I'm using the MC3423 for OVP and the remote activation pin for current limiting. I've been seeing some pretty weird behaviour. For instances the MC3423 will activate and apply a gate pulse to the SCR when it senses an OV the BJT Q1 saturates and pulls the gate to ground as it should the weird thing is there is stil... 25 Oct 2007 16:39
Citizen C504DVC trouble I've got a few things I want to do with my DVD/VCR combo player that I can't seem to get it to do. 1. Litz wire for AM ferrite Rod Antenna? How much improvement can I expect using Litz wire to wind a AM ferrite Rod antenna as opposed to using solid copper wire? Is it worth the trouble to obtain Litz wire, or can I expect almost the same response at say 1 MHz using regular solid enamaled copper wire? -Bill ... 2 Apr 2007 23:36
Crimp tool for Molex terminals Anybody know of a reasonably priced crimp tool for Molex 50079-8000 or 50079-8100 crimp terminals? The Molex tool is 63811-0300 but it sells for around $200.00 so I'm really looking for an Asian "knockoff". ... 17 Mar 2007 17:49
555 Timer Duty Cycle Hi, I'm trying to use a 555 timer to produce a PWM waveform however can't find any reference as to how the value of the resistor* can be used to calcuate the duty cycle. Is there a formula that says something like when you use Xohms it gives 2X% duty cycle? Cheers, Michael *http://www.scienceprog.com/... 16 Feb 2007 06:44 |
