From: KertDawg on 18 Feb 2010 12:26 Hello, all. I searched Google for this, and I didn't find anything useful. I have no experience with REUs or C64 mice. I used to use GEOS with a joystick on a plain C64! What is, in your opinion, the best configuration to use with Winvice to run GEOS? I see various GEOS versions out there, some different REU options, and even a few mouse options. I've tried a few combinations, but I can't seem to make GEOS run any better than a plain C64. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Any tips or links are appreciated. (I'd rather stick to C64, but I'm curious about C128 options, too.) Thanks! - Kert

You should try GEOS 128 setup with REU, in 80 columns mode and 1351 mouse emulation. As for REU - it's not enough to have it enabled in emulator options. On both GEOS 64 and 128 you have to run CONFIGURE application to setup disk drive shadowing and ram drives. ytm -- Najlepsza sygnatura to brak sygnatury. http://bossstation.dnsalias.org/

From: Sean Huxter on 19 Feb 2010 19:02 I wonder if you're using the 1351 mouse driver instead of the 1351a? They're worlds apart. I developed a game last year using WinVice 128, using the REU, (as another poster said - GEOS itself must be configured to use the RAM, not just the Emulator). I have Mouse Emulation mode on, and it is as smooth and perfect as Windows with a Mouse. No issues at all. Even when you Warp it to 1400% speed. No actual mouse issues. I also have it set up to print to .BMP files so GEOS can print graphics as if it is printing on paper - and then I use a Windows program to send those BMPs to my printer. It's an amazing system, and emulates GEOS very nicely. Sean.
