True, but most of the above are /or old versions or source
code. The site I recommended has auto-built CVS 3x a week compiled
binaries, plus the last 2 stable. Also 64 bit (but can't find them)
Pity it only has windows binaries, but OTOH, lame is a cinch
to build from source under linux. I usually build it static, so I can
carry it around and not depend on any external libraries.

Use FLAC. Don't you know it's much better than mp3.

So that's why yours is bigger than mine ...
BTW, .flac won't run in my crummy MP3 player ...though the
sound is superior on the PC.
