In SQL Server 2008 BOL:

ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v10/MS.SQLSVR.v10.en/s10rs_1devconc/html/7bd2b4d6-3d9f-44fc-b22f-2ada2d7d381c.htm

Scroll down to: "To define a Transact-SQL query for report data"

It does not seem possible to follow these instructions:

1. In the Report Data pane, click New, and then click Data Source.

2. In the Name box, type AdventureWorksMatrixData.

* There is no NEW because you are already in the "Data Source Properties
dialog box".

3. In Data source, click New. The Data Source Properties dialog box opens.

4. In Name, type AdventureWorks2008.

* The remaining instructions seem to assume a data source named
"AdventureWorks2008" was created.

Can anyone tell what I'm supposed to be doing here?

Thanks,
Jay

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing correctly.

Please klick the button Send Feedback on the bottom of the page. Then
it will arrive to thr writes, and the topic should be corrected to a
later release of Books Online.

Already done, suppose I should have said that, but I'm trying very hard to
actually understand everything in the SSRS tutorials.

In fact, this is the 3rd response I've sent.
