From: Robert on 5 Apr 2010 05:06 Hello, At had a crash on my hard disk, on a Windows Server 2003 partition (on the other partition I have XP Pro) Fortunately I made an image disk of that Windows Server 2003 partition (I'm using Acronis True Image Echo Server) so I expected to restore it. The restore ran well and finished by the happy message "Restore successful". My boot.ini is just in the reverse order: XP first, then Win Server 2003. I don't care but when I try to select Windows Server 2003, I get a black screen with a minus twinkling sign at the top left. What did I miss to load Win Server 2003? Thanks for your help

It could also happen if you restored Windows to a logical rather than a primary partition.
