Wondering if anyone can help.

When I receive a new text a red asterisk appears next to the
'messages' and 'SMS/MMS' icons as expected. However, when I read the
message (using either one of the icons) the red asterisk remains on
the other one. The message count from the main screen goes but the
other red asterisk doesn't unless I open that folder and go out of it
again.

Is this normal??

I have the same problem. Red Asterisk doesn't go away on my new 9700
as it it did with the 9000.
