I know you have a business web site, and so do I. This comes with a proper URL, meaning your own, and has a host of other features. Many of them I'll never need but online sellers would. Others I really need, such as multiple FTP accounts, no traffic limits, humongous storage space, email, web mail, filtering, and so on. It's cheap. > I use my home web page for personal stuff, like model airplane pictures > and build blogs: > http://www.ccwebster.net/robintim/anairplane/ > http://www.ccwebster.net/robintim/Nobler/ > http://www.ccwebster.net/robintim/Eaglet/ > Nice :-) Have you ever tried this stuff? http://www.immersionrc.com/videos.htm -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ "gmail" domain blocked because of excessive spam. That must have been a looong time ago then. My web hosting provider never charged me for support calls or emails. Plus the computer and Internet gets shut off at night. The power savings alone probably make up the $80/year. Although it's more like $45 because if I had no host I'd have to pay InterNic $35 for the domain name I guess, unless that price has come down by now. -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ "gmail" domain blocked because of excessive spam. Thought about switching but didn't want the hassle. Plus they threw in unlimited traffic so if your site gets attacked you won't get nailed with huge overages or a shutdown. -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ "gmail" domain blocked because of excessive spam. Well, if I wanted for free I could use one of those add filled sites, and upload from my laptop via the Vodafone GPRS / HSDPA modem, - from the attic - as the signal is completely useless downstairs. It is great on the road though. As that PC controls everything in the home, heating, also records satellite TV, plays audio, runs the security cam recording 24/7, I think it is indispensable (right word?). And you have to give it, that Tyan mobo has been running 24/7 now for 10 years :-) The power supply is some Chinese cheap thing, need replacing now, still a decent lifetime I think. I guess ultimately I need no internet at all.... But it is still a lot of fun. Also any datasheet you want in seconds... |
