From: Monica on 22 Jan 2010 15:34 Is my 420 BlueTooth enabled? I was trying to pair/sync it with my BT evN Touch phone and it couldn't fine the computer. I did a system search for BlueTooth but only found mention of support for my keyboard. If it's not, can I buy a device to make it BT enabled? Thanks, Monica
From: William R. Walsh on 22 Jan 2010 15:44 Hi! > Is my 420 BlueTooth enabled? Most probably not. Check the Windows device manager to see if there is a "Bluetooth" category listed. (If there is, you have something relating to Bluetooth in the computer. If not, you do not have any Bluetooth equipment in the system.) Should you need a Bluetooth adapter for your computer, many options exist. Nearly all plug into a USB port on the computer. They are not expensive, costing around $30-50. Failing that, run the service tag of your computer through Dell's web site. From there you can get a build list of what was in your computer when it was made. William
From: Monica on 22 Jan 2010 17:01 Thanks William. No BT listed in DM. I'll check into a BT adapter. I guess that's what they're called, Bluetooth adapter, (for searching purposes)? I'm constantly pulling my micro card out of my phone and into a card reader to transfer pictures, etc from one device to another. Monica "William R. They are fully functional, but then you need to scrounge up the software to go with them... Ben Myers

The problem is that neither the card reader nor bluetooth really worked As Advertised. I don't think bluetooth showed in my devices until I installed SP1 or SP2. There is also an update for the module on the Dell site. If it's installed and working, you will see the following under Programs | Accessories: "Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard" You will also see the Bluetooth service in Computer | Manage | Services.
