From: Roy on 2 Apr 2010 02:43 Hellogroup Just recently I just suddently noticed a bubbling sound emitted by one of my laptop. The sound is reminiscent of an acquarium sound that is emitted by bubbles created by aeration.... or somethinglike that.... Can anybody tell me wha the cause of this.....? Never had this experience before..... TIA Roy

My guess is that this is crosstalk interference from data or graphics processing circuitry inside the laptop. If you run something I/O complex does the sound change in pitch and gurgling duration instep with the activity? Also it could be noise from the display inverter. If you do a temporary change to running on an external monitor (so shutting off the internal screen) does the noise disapear? Have a look at your sound mixer settings, and try to mute, turn off or lower unused inputs. Perhaps the sensitive 'microphone' input is enabled and has it's input activated as a 'playback' mixable source? -- Adrian C |
