From: UE Aero on 23 Jun 2010 13:31 Dear Rune, Here is the short description of what A-, B-, and C-Scan means: A-, B-, C-, Scan usually refers to the method of representing an ultrasound signals. A-scan displays the amount of received ultrasonic energy as a function of time. Relative amount of received energy is plotted along the vertical axis and the elapsed time is displayed along the horizontal axis. B-scan displays a profile (cross-sectional) view of the test specimen which is being inspected. Time-of-flight (travel time) of the sound energy is displayed along the vertical axis and the linear position of the transducer is displayed along the horizontal axis. C-scan provides a plan-type view of the location and size of test specimen features. Relative signal amplitude is displayed as a shade of gray or a color for each of the positions where data was recorded. It usually provides an image of the features that reflect and scatter the sound within and on the surfaces of the test piece. I believe this must make a sense to you now. I have a lot of A-scan signal data for a test specimen in excel. I need to construct an image from it. How do I do it? Please help me!!! Thanks, Anish
