From: georgecat on 15 Mar 2007 16:29 I can upload from my disk D, but cannot download. When I try, I get one of the following messages: "Could not start the windows driver foundation - User-mode drive framework service on local computer" "D;\ is not accessable incorrect function" "Error 31: a device attached to the system is not functioning" Windows XP Home was already installed when I purchased the computer system (new 2003) and I did not get a disk to use to load it. Any suggestions??
From: David B. on 15 Mar 2007 16:38 Uploading and Downloading are not done on local drives, you either read from them or write to them, please explain in more detail what you are trying to do that's not working, and what is D? From: georgecat on 15 Mar 2007 21:11 Okay, I can read from a CD but I can't save to a CD. I'm trying to back up my QuickBooks on a CD. The CD's I bought are Polaroid CD-RW, CD Rewriteable. Once, some time ago I was able to do this and somehow I've lost the ability. If you are trying to backup to the CDRW using the native Windows XP burning function, then it won't. You need third-party software to be able to do that.
From: David B. on 16 Mar 2007 10:53 Again, give the exact procedure your performing to attempt this backup. -- ---- Crosspost, do not multipost http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 How to Post http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://www.db-pc.com _________________________________________________________________________________ "georgecat" <georgecat(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:124B7A45-1E82-4AF0-A0C2-7C19EEA55150(a)microsoft.com... > Okay, I can read from a CD but I can't save to a CD.
