From: trant on 26 Sep 2009 16:58 I am trying to boot up my Windows setup disc on a new machine but I get the following error: CDBOOT Memory overflow error The strange thing is if I booting any of my other machines with this disc it would boot into Windows setup fine Yet if I use any other bootable CD like my memory tester tool or even a bootable Linux CD in this new machine they work fine what could be the problem ??

Could be a marginal CD drive. Try booting with a burnt copy of this CD.
From: trant on 26 Sep 2009 19:09 Hello Pegasus - thank you for the prompt response! It turns out it was something up with my SCSI drive... I am carrying over my 36 gig SCSI drive from my previous PC and for some reason it's causing problems with this new machine. I was able to install Windows on it before... Here's what happened - I unplugged the SCSI cable and the card and then plugged them back in - this solved the CDBOOT Memory overflow error But then in the beginning of Windows setup when it is saying it is inspecting my hardware configuration I quickly get an error about: "Inf file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing. Status 2" So now I am stuck again. If I completely unplugged that scsi adapter it does proceed with windows setup going all the way to the screen asking me what partition to install to. But I really want to utilize my SCSI drive for the OS as these other drives are data drives I have already been using for years now and it would be a huge hassle to move stuff off of one to install the OS to "Pegasus [MVP]" wrote: > > "trant" <trant(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:85ADB3FA-7920-400D-907F-76DF1CFD123E(a)microsoft.com... > >I am trying to boot up my Windows setup disc on a new machine but I get the > > following error: > > > > CDBOOT Memory overflow error > > > > The strange thing is if I booting any of my other machines with this disc > > it > > would boot into Windows setup fine > > > > Yet if I use any other bootable CD like my memory tester tool or even a > > bootable Linux CD in this new machine they work fine > > > > what could be the problem ?? > > Could be a marginal CD drive.
