From: R;odrT on 30 Mar 2010 11:41 We are running Office 7 and Windows 7. I am creating PowerPoint slides by copying and pasting Excel charts (from Excel 2007) into PowerPoint slides (unlinked). The resulting PowerPoint files are very small (150k or less) yet Powerpoint freezes up and either crashes or needs a force quit every 2 or 3 minutes. When PowerPoint does not crash and the slide is printed we may get only half of the data/graphics. I have followed the recommended procedures for copying and pasting the charts from Excel into PowerPoint, have made PowerPoint files with only one slide, etc., yet we still have this frequent problem. This is happening on more than one machine. Anyone else having a similar problem? Anyone have any suggestions for a solution?
From: trip_to_tokyo on 30 Mar 2010 13:43 I do not have that problem and am on the same set up as you. This is copied from one of my earlier postings:- EXCEL and PowerPoint 2007 versions Ricky, please check out:- http://www.pierrefondes.com/ - item number 74 (EXCEL 2007 Charts PowerPoint Presentation). When I copied these Charts into PowerPoint I took the following actions:- 1. I used a Title and Content type of Slide. 2. In EXCEL I right clicked in the Chart I wanted to copy and hit Copy. 3. I then went to PowerPoint clicked in the Content part of the slide / right click / Paste. In lower right hand corner I clicked on the Paste Options button and selected Paste as Picture. This seemed to keep the colours as they were prepared in EXCEL 2007. If my comments have helped please hit Yes. Thanks. From: John Wilson john AT technologytrish.co DOT on 30 Mar 2010 15:27 Apart from involving Excel does that have something to do with the question? @OP You might want to check that you have a default local pronter driver and read: http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00850.htm Sounds crazy but it can cause all sorts of strange crashes. -- john ATSIGN PPTAlchemy.co.uk Free PPT Hints, Tips and Tutorials http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/powerpoint_hints_and_tips_tutorials.html "trip_to_tokyo" wrote: > I do not have that problem and am on the same set up as you. > > This is copied from one of my earlier postings:- > > EXCEL and PowerPoint 2007 versions > > Ricky, please check out:- > > http://www.pierrefondes.com/ > > - item number 74 (EXCEL 2007 Charts PowerPoint Presentation). > > When I copied these Charts into PowerPoint I took the following actions:- > > 1. From: VSV Sahar VSV on 31 Mar 2010 12:13 Hi, I am also having the same problem. Powerpoint crashes out very frequently when working with excel charts. I don't want to paste the chart as picture. I want the chart and the data should be linked to my excel sheet. Any suggestions / bug fixes for this? Thanks in advance VSV Sahar "R;odrT" wrote: > We are running Office 7 and Windows 7. > > I am creating PowerPoint slides by copying and pasting Excel charts (from > Excel 2007) into PowerPoint slides (unlinked).
