I'm planning to upgrade to a new iMac and CS4 in the near future. This
will be a production machine for a freelance graphic design business.
I'm concerned by some discussions found by googling "CS4 Snow Leopard
compatibility" that report major stability problems in CS4 apps with
some people reverting to Leopard to avoid regular crashes. As with many
of these threads found online, the discussions often peter out with no
final conclusion.

Are these issues fixed with the 10.6.2 update? Is anyone running CS4
(especially InDesign and Photoshop) on Snow Leopard without major
problems?

I'm nervous about parting with 2000 and ending up with something buggy
and unstable.

Most of us have been using CS4 with Mac OS X 10.6 without issue for a
long time.

A few reports from a vocal minority does not constitute widespread
problems. Did it occur to you that the problems being described in those
reports you read online may not have actually been caused by CS4? It's
certainly interesting that the discussions had no conclusion. ; )

That's a relief. The trouble with researching potential problems on the
internet is that the contented silent majority are, well, ..silent!

The threads I found seemed to revolve around random crashing when
opening and saving, some problems with Menlo font, and cursor display
errors in Photoshop. Another user reported crashes when exporting PDFs.
Reading between the lines, many of those affected seemed to be early
adopters of SL upgrading from Leopard. What had me worried was that some
of these threads were dated as late as Nov 09.

Thanks for replying.

Only issue I'm having is some buggy little deal where I close the
program, typically Fireworks, and it appears to close but then I get a
crash report window. Other that that no issues

I was hoping the default 4GB would be enough. Or is that asking for
problems?
