He didn't ask for the reassignment. In fact he was a little
disappointed because she thinks it is a pit of issues but
recognizes this may be just the challenge he needs to show his stuff

There are probably other political factors behind all the
machinations. But that's all he knows
about and that's all they told him.

If I were him, I would spend a lot of time on my decisions and would keep
doing
that. Because there is no reason for nonsense. He built
a decent rep on quality and shouldn't want to erode it.
