iPhoto 8.1.2, Photoshop Elements 8.0.

I just upgraded Photoshop Elements.

With prior versions, if I called PE from iPhoto and edited, when I
saved back
to iPhoto the edited version was saved by iPhoto as a Modified
image.

With the new version of PE, the integration of the two apps is poor.
iPhoto will call PE, but on closing PE wants to save the edited
photo to its own library. If the picture hasn't previously been
edited in iPhoto, the only easy way to return it to iPhoto is to
replace the Original. I'd rather not do that.

Is there a fix for this? I don't see anything in PE preferences that
seems to apply.
